[Determination of splenic size by ultrasonic scanning (author's transl)]. 1976

R Petzoldt, and H Lutz, and R Ehler, and B Neidhardt

Two dimensional B-Scans make it possible to examine and measure the spleen. In 62 patients the size of the spleen was evaluated by ultrasound; the results were compared with the size of the organ after extirpation: In 58 of 62 cases there were correct results. Therefore, the ultrasonic determination of the splenic size is a reliable method for clinical questions.
