The aims of surgical treatment of scoliosis is to correct the deformity and to maintain the correction with a fusion. New intrumentations allow important corrections in 3D either from the front or from the back of the spine, on combining both. They permit early return to normal life. Safety is improved thanks to continuous neurological control with evoked potentials, blood salvage to avoid homologous blood transfusion and progress in anesthetic technics.
