Synthesis and properties of 1,3-bis-salicyloyl-5,5-diethylbarbituric and 1,3-bis-salicyloyl-5,5-diethyl-2-deoxybarbituric acids. 1975

H Sladowska

1,3-Bis-salicyloyl-5,5-diethylbarbituric acid and 1,3-bis-sacilcyloyl-5,5-diethyl-2-deoxybarbituric acid have been synthesized and found not to isomerize spontaneously. 1,3-Bis-salicyloylbarbital undergoes thermal decomposition giving 2,3-dihydro-4H-benzoxazine [1,3]dione-2,4, carbon monoxide and cyclopentane.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007202 Indicators and Reagents Substances used for the detection, identification, analysis, etc. of chemical, biological, or pathologic processes or conditions. Indicators are substances that change in physical appearance, e.g., color, at or approaching the endpoint of a chemical titration, e.g., on the passage between acidity and alkalinity. Reagents are substances used for the detection or determination of another substance by chemical or microscopical means, especially analysis. Types of reagents are precipitants, solvents, oxidizers, reducers, fluxes, and colorimetric reagents. D007536 Isomerism The phenomenon whereby certain chemical compounds have structures that are different although the compounds possess the same elemental composition. (From McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 5th ed) Isomerisms
D009682 Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Spectroscopic method of measuring the magnetic moment of elementary particles such as atomic nuclei, protons or electrons. It is employed in clinical applications such as NMR Tomography (MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING).
