Memory clip for intracranial aneurysm surgery. Technical note. 1975

T Iwabuchi, and S Suzuki, and K Ebina, and T Honma

The authors have devised a malleable V-shaped removable clip with mechanical memory effect of shape memory. This clip is easily removed by heating part of it to 79 degrees to 107 degrees C, causing the closed clip to return to its original V shape.

D008297 Male Males
D009532 Nickel A trace element with the atomic symbol Ni, atomic number 28, and atomic weight 58.69. It is a cofactor of the enzyme UREASE.
D002532 Intracranial Aneurysm Abnormal outpouching in the wall of intracranial blood vessels. Most common are the saccular (berry) aneurysms located at branch points in CIRCLE OF WILLIS at the base of the brain. Vessel rupture results in SUBARACHNOID HEMORRHAGE or INTRACRANIAL HEMORRHAGES. Giant aneurysms (>2.5 cm in diameter) may compress adjacent structures, including the OCULOMOTOR NERVE.
