[Adverse effects of administration of carbohydrates during long-term parenteral feeding]. 1979

Metabolic parameters of 26 adult patients were investigated for 26 to 35 postoperative days while being fed parenterally. Tolerable metabolic disturbances did not only occur in the phase immediately after surgery, but also in the late postoperative phase together with complications.
