Experiments on Wistar rat males modelled crush syndrome (CS). Stability of blood protein composition in rats undergoing CS decompression was found. This reflects activation of protein synthesis in the defense systems of the body due to stress reaction to CS. It seems that the lymphatic system takes a detoxicating function which is essential in conditions when the same function of the liver in CS weakens. The conclusion is made on stressor depletion in CS as a typical pathological process rapidly realizing main links of alimentary dystrophy.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008208 Lymphatic System A system of organs and tissues that process and transport immune cells and LYMPH. Lymphatic Systems
D008297 Male Males
D011506 Proteins Linear POLYPEPTIDES that are synthesized on RIBOSOMES and may be further modified, crosslinked, cleaved, or assembled into complex proteins with several subunits. The specific sequence of AMINO ACIDS determines the shape the polypeptide will take, during PROTEIN FOLDING, and the function of the protein. Gene Products, Protein,Gene Proteins,Protein,Protein Gene Products,Proteins, Gene
D003404 Creatinine Creatinine Sulfate Salt,Krebiozen,Salt, Creatinine Sulfate,Sulfate Salt, Creatinine
D003444 Crush Syndrome Severe systemic manifestation of trauma and ischemia involving soft tissues, principally skeletal muscle, due to prolonged severe crushing. It leads to increased permeability of the cell membrane and to the release of potassium, enzymes, and myoglobin from within cells. Ischemic renal dysfunction secondary to hypotension and diminished renal perfusion results in acute tubular necrosis and uremia. Crush Syndromes,Syndrome, Crush,Syndromes, Crush
D000418 Albumins Water-soluble proteins found in egg whites, blood, lymph, and other tissues and fluids. They coagulate upon heating. Albumin
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. Animal,Metazoa,Animalia
D014508 Urea A compound formed in the liver from ammonia produced by the deamination of amino acids. It is the principal end product of protein catabolism and constitutes about one half of the total urinary solids. Basodexan,Carbamide,Carmol
D014527 Uric Acid An oxidation product, via XANTHINE OXIDASE, of oxypurines such as XANTHINE and HYPOXANTHINE. It is the final oxidation product of purine catabolism in humans and primates, whereas in most other mammals URATE OXIDASE further oxidizes it to ALLANTOIN. 2,6,8-Trihydroxypurine,Ammonium Acid Urate,Monosodium Urate,Monosodium Urate Monohydrate,Potassium Urate,Sodium Acid Urate,Sodium Acid Urate Monohydrate,Sodium Urate,Sodium Urate Monohydrate,Trioxopurine,Urate,Acid Urate, Ammonium,Acid Urate, Sodium,Acid, Uric,Monohydrate, Monosodium Urate,Monohydrate, Sodium Urate,Urate Monohydrate, Monosodium,Urate Monohydrate, Sodium,Urate, Ammonium Acid,Urate, Monosodium,Urate, Potassium,Urate, Sodium,Urate, Sodium Acid
D017208 Rats, Wistar A strain of albino rat developed at the Wistar Institute that has spread widely at other institutions. This has markedly diluted the original strain. Wistar Rat,Rat, Wistar,Wistar Rats
