By history of special medical disciplines, it refers to history of many subjects in special medicine, basic medicine, clinical medicine, and preventive medicine. Being an important field in the research of medical history, it made its first appearance around 1911. For the period beginning from 1930's-1960's, it passes through 3 stages, viz. the beginning, the flourishing and the profound development. The first period includes the publication of over 400 papers, the 2nd period, over 440 articles, and that in the 3rd period, over 1300 papers. It has been estimated that over one hundred journals and newspapers published articles in this special field.
