After a brief reference his predecessor, the author presents a biographical essay on doctor Antonio José Castillo, excellent professor of surgery and gynecology and Head of the Central University of Venezuela. He was the first President of the Autonomous Institute of the University City and backed firmly its building. He was also President of the Venezuelan Red Cross and Member of many Scientific Societies and received distinguished badges and acknowledgements from Venezuela and other countries.
