[Three visits to Val-de-Grace by Jean-François Coste]. 1999

J F Lemaire

At the head of the military health's Service from 1784 up to his death in 1819, Coste dropped in on the Val-de-Grace mainly three times. The first one in 1793 to decide if the old convent could become an instruction hospital. In 1796 for a maiden trip before Napoleon's decision to close the hospital, and at least in 1816 to preside his reoccupation. No matter for Coste the changing forms of government that happened during this period.
