The quantitative determination of griseofulvin by gas chromatography (ECD-GC). 1975

Y Suenaga, and N Yasukawa

Serum and organ griseofulvin levels in guinea pigs and serum levels in patients who received a prolonged oral administration of griseofulvin were determined gas-chromatographically. In guinea pigs liver showed the highest concentration of griseofulvin, followed by kidney and serum in the decreasing order. The skin levels were 0.16 approximately 1.51 mug/g with a dose of 30 mg/kg. In humans it was proved that griseofulvin did not cause any accumulation in the serum with a dosage of 500 mg/day.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007668 Kidney Body organ that filters blood for the secretion of URINE and that regulates ion concentrations. Kidneys
D008099 Liver A large lobed glandular organ in the abdomen of vertebrates that is responsible for detoxification, metabolism, synthesis and storage of various substances. Livers
D008168 Lung Either of the pair of organs occupying the cavity of the thorax that effect the aeration of the blood. Lungs

D002849 Chromatography, Gas Fractionation of a vaporized sample as a consequence of partition between a mobile gaseous phase and a stationary phase held in a column. Two types are gas-solid chromatography, where the fixed phase is a solid, and gas-liquid, in which the stationary phase is a nonvolatile liquid supported on an inert solid matrix.
