[Nasal patency in the population of tropical coasts (author's transl)]. 1975

Z Novotný

264 normal subjects living in tropical coastal climate (Cuba) were studied by means of contralateral rhinomanometry. The decreased nasal patency in white subjects when compared with European criteria is apparently caused by vasodilation due to the climate. There was a statistically significant difference in nasal patency between the white and the black race. Mulattos show intermediate characteristics both from the anatomical and functional point of view.
