[SI units in medicine]. 1976

The current concepts of a standarized reporting system in medicine and in clinical pathology (Systeme International d'Unites. SI); is reviewed. SI units in medicine permit a better physiological approach to the understanding of biochemical alterations of disease. The usefulness of the SI system in different areas of clinical pathology, and a report form of the laboratory are outlined.
