The hydroxyapatite (HA)-coated unilateral subperiosteal implant is a highly predictable and successful implant system when specifically indicated. Osseous and soft-tissue adaptability and compatibility appear enhanced through the use of this HA-coated framework. Indications, techniques, common complications, and typical case studies are presented. HA coatings may provide the next generation of already proved successful subperiosteal implant systems.
