[The value of various radiological signs in peripheral lung tumours (author's transl)]. 1976

W Castrup, and R von Koppenfels

Peripheral lung tumours are often found accidentally at a time when they produce no clinical symptoms. The value of frequency of numerous radiological signs in benign and malignant peripheral lung tumours were studied in the clinical material seen in the radiological clinics at Münster University. There are hardly any reliable differential signs during the early stages. Peripheral bronchial carcinomas can be distinguished with certainty on radiological grounds only at an advanced stage, because of their extension into surrounding lung.
