We have calculated the frequencies of two alleles of the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase gene in a randomly selected group of Caucasians. Allele 1 has a frequency of 82%, whereas that of allele 2 is 18%.

D016133	Polymerase Chain Reaction	In vitro method for producing large amounts of specific DNA or RNA fragments of defined length and sequence from small amounts of short oligonucleotide flanking sequences (primers).
