Women with augmented breast implants are presenting for mammograms in greater numbers over the past year due to recent publicity regarding the safety of silicone gel-filled implants. New issues are being raised in light of this recent increase, making it essential for patients and health care providers to understand the limitations of mammography and how to best minimize problems.
