[Stable extraosseous compression osteosynthesis in fractures of the crural bones]. 1992

V V Kuz'menko, and V V Pikin, and A V Skorogudaev

The article deals with the main principles of the conception of stable extraosseous compression osteosynthesis, the necessary conditions for its successful application. Operations were conducted on 87 patients for diaphyseal fractures of the leg bones by means of methods, instruments, and fixators suggested by the Osteosynthesis Association (OA, Switzerland). The late-term results of treatment were followed-up in 80 patients, 8 of them had complications (fracture and migration of the plate, nonunion of the fragments, osteomyelitis, recurrent fractures).
