[On the connections between the rami communicantes of the sympathicus and the rami posteriores of the loin nerves (author's transl)]. 1978

F Kikkawa, and K Fujikura, and S Taniya, and K Kaneko

The existence of anastomoses between the Rami communicantes of the Truncus sympathicus and the Rami posteriores of the loin nerve in man has been confirmed macroscopically and microscopically in 50% of the cases. This is followed by a discussion of the causality of pains in the loin region.

D012584 Sciatic Nerve A nerve which originates in the lumbar and sacral spinal cord (L4 to S3) and supplies motor and sensory innervation to the lower extremity. The sciatic nerve, which is the main continuation of the sacral plexus, is the largest nerve in the body. It has two major branches, the TIBIAL NERVE and the PERONEAL NERVE. D013127 Spinal Nerves The 31 paired peripheral nerves formed by the union of the dorsal and ventral spinal roots from each spinal cord segment. The spinal nerve plexuses and the spinal roots are also included. Nerve, Spinal,Nerves, Spinal,Spinal Nerve
D013564 Sympathetic Nervous System The thoracolumbar division of the autonomic nervous system. Sympathetic preganglionic fibers originate in neurons of the intermediolateral column of the spinal cord and project to the paravertebral and prevertebral ganglia, which in turn project to target organs. The sympathetic nervous system mediates the body's response to stressful situations, i.e., the fight or flight reactions. It often acts reciprocally to the parasympathetic system.
