This paper seeks to emphasise the social approach in the treatment of disability. It is important that disabled people should lead as near a normal life as possible with some financial security. Financial assistance for disabled people is left up to individual local authorities. The author points out the disadvantages of this system and draws attention to a voluntary organisation which fills a gap in existing services.
