D005260 Female Females
D006801 Humans Members of the species Homo sapiens. Homo sapiens,Man (Taxonomy),Human,Man, Modern,Modern Man
D000328 Adult A person having attained full growth or maturity. Adults are of 19 through 44 years of age. For a person between 19 and 24 years of age, YOUNG ADULT is available. Adults
D001708 Biopterins Pterin derivatives based on 2-amino-6-(1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(1H)-pteridinone. Biopterins are natural products that have been considered as growth factors for some insects. Biopterins are cofactors for the AROMATIC AMINO ACID hydroxylases and NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASE. Deficiencies in BIOPTERINS metabolism (e.g., lowered TETRAHYDROBIOPTERIN) are associated with neurological deterioration (e.g., HYPERPHENYLALANINAEMIA). 2-Amino-6-((1S,2R)-1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(1H)-pteridinone,2-Amino-6-((1S,2S)-1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(1H)-pteridinone,2-Amino-6-(1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(8H)-pteridinone,2-amino-6-((1R,2R)-1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(3H)-pteridinone,4(1H)-Pteridinone, 2-amino-6-(1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-, (S-(R*,S*))-,6-Biopterin,Biopterin,D-threo-Biopterin,L-Biopterin,L-erythro-Biopterin,L-threo-Biopterin,2-Amino-6-(1,2-dihydroxypropyl)-4(1H)-pteridinone,Dictyopterin,Orinapterin,6 Biopterin,D threo Biopterin,L Biopterin,L erythro Biopterin,L threo Biopterin
D015215 Zidovudine A dideoxynucleoside compound in which the 3'-hydroxy group on the sugar moiety has been replaced by an azido group. This modification prevents the formation of phosphodiester linkages which are needed for the completion of nucleic acid chains. The compound is a potent inhibitor of HIV replication, acting as a chain-terminator of viral DNA during reverse transcription. It improves immunologic function, partially reverses the HIV-induced neurological dysfunction, and improves certain other clinical abnormalities associated with AIDS. Its principal toxic effect is dose-dependent suppression of bone marrow, resulting in anemia and leukopenia. D019798 Neopterin A pteridine derivative present in body fluids; elevated levels result from immune system activation, malignant disease, allograft rejection, and viral infections. (From Stedman, 26th ed) Neopterin also serves as a precursor in the biosynthesis of BIOPTERINS. 2-Amino-6-(1,2,3-trihydroxypropyl)-4(3H)-pteridinone,Monapterin,Neopterin, (R*, R*)-Isomer,Neopterin, (erythro-D)-Isomer,Neopterin, (erythro-L)-Isomer,Neopterin, (threo-D)-Isomer,Neopterin, (threo-L)-Isomer,Umanopterin
