Prevention of surgical wound infection: prophylactic antibiotics in colorectal surgery. 2005

Surgical wound infection in colorectal surgery represents a significant cause of poor patient outcome. Adequate prophylaxis requires timely administration; topical gentamicin can significantly reduce infection in poorly perfused areas.
