[Fertility of large fruit-tree tortrix Archips podana Scop. (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) on different edible plants]. 2005

We studied pupal weight, total fertility, and potential and actual fertility of imagoes of large fruit-tree tortrix Archips podana Scop. for caterpillars reared on apple, currant, pear, lilac, and plum plants. Pupal weight had no effect on total fertility in the first generation but was reflected in the second generation. The dependence of potential and actual fertility of imago on pupal weight was nonlinear with a trend to optimum within certain limits.
