[Microcirculation and the blood rheological properties and their correction in ischemic disorders of the cerebral circulation]. 1991

I Sh Vesel'skiĭ, and A V Sanik

A study was made of microcirculation using bulbar biomicroscopy and of the aggregation properties of platelets in 94 patients with initial manifestations of cerebral circulatory failure and dyscirculatory encephalopathy before and after the treatment with vasoactive drugs and actovegin. It has been recorded that the impairment of blood microcirculation progresses with the rise of the disease stage, being more pronounced in patients with vegetovascular crises. To correct microcirculatory disorders and the rheological properties of blood, the authors provide evidence for administering cavinton, euphylline and nicotinic acid combined with actovegin.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008297 Male Males
D008833 Microcirculation The circulation of the BLOOD through the MICROVASCULAR NETWORK. Microvascular Blood Flow,Microvascular Circulation,Blood Flow, Microvascular,Circulation, Microvascular,Flow, Microvascular Blood,Microvascular Blood Flows,Microvascular Circulations
D008875 Middle Aged An adult aged 45 - 64 years. Middle Age
D001809 Blood Viscosity The internal resistance of the BLOOD to shear forces. The in vitro measure of whole blood viscosity is of limited clinical utility because it bears little relationship to the actual viscosity within the circulation, but an increase in the viscosity of circulating blood can contribute to morbidity in patients suffering from disorders such as SICKLE CELL ANEMIA and POLYCYTHEMIA. Blood Viscosities,Viscosities, Blood,Viscosity, Blood
D001921 Brain The part of CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM that is contained within the skull (CRANIUM). Arising from the NEURAL TUBE, the embryonic brain is comprised of three major parts including PROSENCEPHALON (the forebrain); MESENCEPHALON (the midbrain); and RHOMBENCEPHALON (the hindbrain). The developed brain consists of CEREBRUM; CEREBELLUM; and other structures in the BRAIN STEM. Encephalon
D002545 Brain Ischemia Localized reduction of blood flow to brain tissue due to arterial obstruction or systemic hypoperfusion. This frequently occurs in conjunction with brain hypoxia (HYPOXIA, BRAIN). Prolonged ischemia is associated with BRAIN INFARCTION. Cerebral Ischemia,Ischemic Encephalopathy,Encephalopathy, Ischemic,Ischemia, Cerebral,Brain Ischemias,Cerebral Ischemias,Ischemia, Brain,Ischemias, Cerebral,Ischemic Encephalopathies
D003228 Conjunctiva The mucous membrane that covers the posterior surface of the eyelids and the anterior pericorneal surface of the eyeball. D005260 Female Females
D006418 Heme The color-furnishing portion of hemoglobin. It is found free in tissues and as the prosthetic group in many hemeproteins. Ferroprotoporphyrin,Protoheme,Haem,Heme b,Protoheme IX
