Thirty patients with nonspecific aortoarteritis (NAA) associated with occlusive lesions of the main arteries of the head verified by aortography, ultrasonography of the aorta, volumetric sphygmography and REG were under observation. Young women predominated among the patients. The identification of the early form of cerebrovascular insufficiency associated with NAA is important for delimiting indications for surgical treatment.

D013625 Takayasu Arteritis A chronic inflammatory process that affects the AORTA and its primary branches, such as the brachiocephalic artery (BRACHIOCEPHALIC TRUNK) and CAROTID ARTERIES. It results in progressive arterial stenosis, occlusion, and aneurysm formation. The pulse in the arm is hard to detect. Patients with aortitis syndrome often exhibit retinopathy.
