Seasonal Changes in Osmotic Pressure of Flounder Sera. 1961

W G Pearcy

The freezing point depression of sera collected from flounder during the winter averaged 1.15 degrees C, whereas it averaged 0.63 degrees C for sera collected during the summer. Elevated concentration of sodium and chloride ions were found for the winter samples of sera, but NaCl explained only a fraction of the seasonal increase in osmolarity.
