Complex pieces of machinery require regular systematic preventative maintenance to sustain their high-performance standards. The same is true with the complex human "machinery" that runs medical group practices. The behaviors, skills, and attitudes that are often referred to as the "soft 'touchy-feely' stuff" are not a luxury. Quite the contrary--they are essential to achieving and maintaining hard bottom line high performance.
