Dopamine receptors in the rat thymus. 1991

Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences, La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy.

Radioreceptor assay and autoradiographic techniques with 3H-SCH 23390 as a ligand were used to characterize pharmacologically and to localize anatomically dopamine D-1 receptor sites in sections of rat thymus. 3H-SCH 23390 was specifically bound to sections of rat thymus in a manner consistent with the labeling of D-1 receptor sites. Autoradiography demonstrated the accumulation of 3H-SCH 23390 binding sites in the cortex of the thymus rather than in corpuscles.

D011919 Rats, Inbred Strains Genetically identical individuals developed from brother and sister matings which have been carried out for twenty or more generations or by parent x offspring matings carried out with certain restrictions. This also includes animals with a long history of closed colony breeding. D011954 Receptors, Dopamine Cell-surface proteins that bind dopamine with high affinity and trigger intracellular changes influencing the behavior of cells. Dopamine Receptors,Dopamine Receptor,Receptor, Dopamine
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D001345 Autoradiography The making of a radiograph of an object or tissue by recording on a photographic plate the radiation emitted by radioactive material within the object. (Dorland, 27th ed) Radioautography
D001552 Benzazepines Compounds with BENZENE fused to AZEPINES.
D013950 Thymus Gland A single, unpaired primary lymphoid organ situated in the MEDIASTINUM, extending superiorly into the neck to the lower edge of the THYROID GLAND and inferiorly to the fourth costal cartilage. It is necessary for normal development of immunologic function early in life. By puberty, it begins to involute and much of the tissue is replaced by fat. D017447 Receptors, Dopamine D1 A subfamily of G-PROTEIN-COUPLED RECEPTORS that bind the neurotransmitter DOPAMINE and modulate its effects. D1-class receptor genes lack INTRONS, and the receptors stimulate ADENYLYL CYCLASES. Dopamine D1 Receptors,Dopamine-D1 Receptor,D1 Receptors, Dopamine,Dopamine D1 Receptor,Receptor, Dopamine-D1
