The genera include ALPHABACULOVIRUS; GAMMABACULOVIRUS; and DELTABACULOVIRUS (commonly known as NUCLEOPOLYHEDROVIRUSES) and BETABACULOVIRUS (commonly known as GRANULOVIRUSES). Baculovirus vectors are used for expression of foreign genes in insects and as BIOPESTICIDES for controlling insect populations.
