[Carbohydrate and energy metabolism in the dynamics of DIC syndrome in children with pyo-inflammatory diseases]. 1991

F N Solodovnikova, and V V Dmitriev

The changes in carbohydrate and energy metabolism were established to be inconclusive in patients with different stages of the DIC syndrome. Optimization of carbohydrate and energy metabolism performed in a differentiated manner, bearing in mind the depth of hemostatic disturbances is one of the main trends in the treatment of the DIC syndrome in children suffering from pyo-inflammatory diseases.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007223 Infant A child between 1 and 23 months of age. Infants
D007249 Inflammation A pathological process characterized by injury or destruction of tissues caused by a variety of cytologic and chemical reactions. It is usually manifested by typical signs of pain, heat, redness, swelling, and loss of function. Innate Inflammatory Response,Inflammations,Inflammatory Response, Innate,Innate Inflammatory Responses
D007328 Insulin A 51-amino acid pancreatic hormone that plays a major role in the regulation of glucose metabolism, directly by suppressing endogenous glucose production (GLYCOGENOLYSIS; GLUCONEOGENESIS) and indirectly by suppressing GLUCAGON secretion and LIPOLYSIS. Native insulin is a globular protein comprised of a zinc-coordinated hexamer. Each insulin monomer containing two chains, A (21 residues) and B (30 residues), linked by two disulfide bonds. Insulin is used as a drug to control insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (DIABETES MELLITUS, TYPE 1). D004211 Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation A disorder characterized by procoagulant substances entering the general circulation causing a systemic thrombotic process. The activation of the clotting mechanism may arise from any of a number of disorders. A majority of the patients manifest skin lesions, sometimes leading to PURPURA FULMINANS.
