[Management of uncomplicated dichorionic twin pregnancy]. 2009

OBJECTIVE To determine clinical recommendations for the management of uncomplicated dichorionic twin pregnancies. METHODS Articles were searched using PubMed, Embase and Cochrane library. RESULTS High level studies are rare. However, it is clear that dichorionic twin pregnancies are at risk for maternal or obstetrical complications as diabetes, preeclampsia and intra uterine growth restriction. Therefore, a specific follow up is recommended. CONCLUSIONS A monthly clinical and ultrasound survey is recommended. The best time to deliver is between 38 and 40 weeks. Further studies are necessary to determine the best way to manage dichorionic twin pregnancies.
