[Acute uveitis in nonspecific ulcerative colitis]. 2009

I Iu Razumova, and A R Ambartsumian

The paper describes a case of a type of the manifestation of aveitis associated with an exacerbation of nonspecific ulcerative colitis. Ultrasound diagnostic techniques, such as ultrasound biomicroscopy and B-scanning, evaluate the uveal tract that can no longer be imaged, by using the traditional examination methods. These methods extend diagnostic capabilities and permit an objective monitoring of the status of a patient.

D000328 Adult A person having attained full growth or maturity. Adults are of 19 through 44 years of age. For a person between 19 and 24 years of age, YOUNG ADULT is available. Adults
D015864 Panuveitis Inflammation in which both the anterior and posterior segments of the uvea are involved and a specific focus is not apparent. It is often severe and extensive and a serious threat to vision. Causes include systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, and syphilis, as well as malignancies. The intermediate segment of the eye is not involved.
D033401 Microscopy, Acoustic A scientific tool based on ULTRASONOGRAPHY and used not only for the observation of microstructure in metalwork but also in living tissue. In biomedical application, the acoustic propagation speed in normal and abnormal tissues can be quantified to distinguish their tissue elasticity and other properties.
