Two patients with heterotopic gastric cysts are presented and the literature is briefly reviewed. These cysts are histologically characterized by a gastric mucosa with parietal and chief cells, gastric glands and sometimes even have a muscularis mucosae.

These glands consist of cells that secrete mucus, enzymes, HYDROCHLORIC ACID, or hormones.
