METHODS The Cochrane Oral Health Group Trials Register, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Medline, Embase and LILACS . There were no language restrictions. METHODS Randomised controlled trials (RCT) were considered that compared any intervention for treating displaced ankylosed permanent front teeth in individuals of any age. METHODS Two independent review authors screened studies in duplicate. Although no studies were ultimately included, the authors had planned to extract data independently and to assess risk of bias following Cochrane Collaboration methods. RESULTS The search retrieved 77 references to studies. None matched the inclusion criteria and therefore were excluded. CONCLUSIONS There is no evidence from RCT about the comparative effectiveness of the different treatment options for ankylosed permanent front teeth. The lack of high-level evidence for the management of this health problem emphasises the need for well-designed clinical trials.
