[Femoral neck prosthesis in elderly subjects]. 1990

T T Kikacheishvili, and I P Sobolev, and R T Sulava

In the article are presented data, based on the research analysis, corroborating the necessity of creation of individual joint surfaces of single-pole endoprostheses of hip joint. There are presented the descriptions of the endoprosthesis, proposed by T. Kikacheishvily and the operative technique with application of the said construction. There is given the analysis of the results of treatment of 58 patients of elderly and senile age with the femoral neck fractures, which were operated on with the application of Kikacheishvily's construction. It is suggested that in case of endoprosthetics of recent femoral neck fractures there can be achieved much better functional results as compared with the results obtained in case of treatment of patients with already formed false joint. The author indicates that the proposed construction ensures positive and stable results and proposes to introduce it in common clinical practice.
