Patients with severe traumatic injuries occasionally undergo damage control surgery. This paper highlights some of the perioperative anaesthesiological considerations. Although damage control is often used as a surgical term, it is crucial that personnel involved in the parallel resuscitation of the patient have a common understanding of the challenges that are usually present during damage control surgery.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D009467 Neuromuscular Depolarizing Agents Drugs that interrupt transmission at the skeletal neuromuscular junction by causing sustained depolarization of the motor end plate. These agents are primarily used as adjuvants in surgical anesthesia to cause skeletal muscle relaxation.
