Characteristic problems of antibiotic's epoch of fifth decade, as well as, the up-to-date situation of well proved antibiotics, several new antimicrobic agents (modern cephalosporins, etc) are expounded. The problems of antibiotic prophylaxis are detailed presented and the antibiotic-policy, the organized model of rational antibiotic therapy is outlined.
