Oligospermia associated with asthenia is a frequent cause of sterility. Sulpiride, which is a regulator of autonomic nervous system function, was prescribed alone in such a case and pregnancy resulted on two occasions. The relationship between the normal duration of spermatogenesis and the periods during which sulpiride was prescribed was such that the hypothesis of a hormonal effect could be rejected and strongly suggests the existence of psychological factors in some patients with oligospermia.
