Do as I say, not as I do. 2012

Ian Peate

Nurses readily dispense prescriptions and advice but, what do they do themselves? Do they ever take their own medicine? The often heard saying, 'Do as I say, not as I do', could be an adage that is repeatedly used by nurses when working with and treating patients. Patients who are being treated by overweight nurses, nurses who are stressed and those who smoke may take with a pinch of salt (literally and metaphorically) any healthcare advice being offered by those nurses.
