Long-term status of patients with posterior urethral valves. 1990

H F Parkhouse, and C R Woodhouse
St. Thomas's Hospital, London, UK.

The short-term prognosis for boys with posterior urethral valves is now very good, but there is growing concern that the long-term prognosis is less favorable. The authors summarize current knowledge about the prospects for renal and bladder function and fertility, which have become urgent considerations with the advent of prenatal diagnosis.
