[The effect of isoniazid on regional hemodynamics in the lesser circulation in patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis]. 1990

B V Noreĭko, and A K Vorodiukhina

Along with the well-studied tuberculostatic effect, isoniazid has a strong impact on the pulmonary hemodynamics in patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis. A single oral administration of a daily dose (0.6 g) of isoniazid makes it possible to normalize the pulmonary hemodynamics bringing about systolic blood pressure drop and an increase of the pulse and minute pulse blood flow. The most meaningful normalizing action of isoniazid is demonstrated in patients with disseminated and infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis, especially where the pathologic process takes place.
