[The use of hypothermia in the combined treatment of patients with facial neuritis in the acute period]. 1990

Local-dosed hypothermia is a pathogenetically substantiated method of treatment of facial neuritis as it produces a marked anti-inflammatory effect due to development of a persistent reflex vasospasm. The method is effective in the acute stage of the disease, has no contraindications and reduces significantly the chemotherapy load.
