The screening covering 5,155 residents of Moscow and 6,412 foreign students revealed the presence of antibodies to the virus, causing immunodeficiency in man, in 20 students from African countries. The antibodies were detected by means of the immune blotting assay. The problem of the possibility of the heterosexual transfer of the virus is discussed.
