[Status of Hansen's disease in the State of São Paulo in 1978]. 1979

The authors describe the situation of endemic Hansen's disease in the State of São Paulo in 1978, presenting the prevalence and incidence rates of the disease in the several Regional Health Divisions of the State. An attempt to evaluate the Hansen's disease control programme carried out since 1976, is also presented, through the participation of the Health Units of the State in the activities of epidemiologic surveillance of the programme.
