Latero-lateral cephalometric films of the mandible in maximum intercuspation should be repositioned in centric relation to avoid misinterpretation in the VTO. A technique involving the combined use of articulator-mounted study models and a cephalometric analysis allows the center of rotation to be accurately determined for VTO.
