[Effect of various doses of ethanol on the structure of the wakefulness-sleep cycle in cats]. 1989

M V Gogichadze, and N D Omiadze, and I P Lomashvili, and L G Naveriani

I.p. administration of 25% ethanol solution with a gradual increase of the dose from 1 to 2 g/kg prolonged the wakefulness, reduced the slow-wave sleep, inhibited the paradoxical phase, and caused a fragmentation of the sleep-wakefulness cycle. The above disorders preserved during a few days after the cessation of ethanol administration.
