Edge surface tension of paraffin/water systems has been studied in the presence of Tween 61, Span- and Tegin-series, respectively. It has been established that edge surface tension decreases more steeply and in a higher degree when Tween 61 had been dissolved in the lipophylic phase. Edge surface tension of liquid paraffin solutions of lipophylic emulsifiers measured against aqueous solutions of Tween 61 changed as power function with the concentration. The same relationship has been found between adhesive work and concentration of tensids.
