[Effect of indomethacin on the immunological indices of patients with inoperable stomach cancer]. 1989

Immunoregulatory T-lymphocytes (T mu- and T gamma-lymphocytes) and circulating immune complexes were studied in inoperable patients with the stomach carcinoma of stages III-IV. It is established that the absolute number of T-lymphocytes, mainly of T-helpers/inductors increases after the administration of indomethacin and 5-fluorouracil with indomethacin. The T mu/T gamma-lymphocyte ratio increases and approaches the control values. The level of the circulating immune complexes tends to be normalized. The main effect of indomethacin is determined by the effect of T-lymphocytes on immunoregulatory subpopulations.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007108 Immune Tolerance The specific failure of a normally responsive individual to make an immune response to a known antigen. It results from previous contact with the antigen by an immunologically immature individual (fetus or neonate) or by an adult exposed to extreme high-dose or low-dose antigen, or by exposure to radiation, antimetabolites, antilymphocytic serum, etc. Immunosuppression (Physiology),Immunosuppressions (Physiology),Tolerance, Immune
D007111 Immunity, Cellular Manifestations of the immune response which are mediated by antigen-sensitized T-lymphocytes via lymphokines or direct cytotoxicity. This takes place in the absence of circulating antibody or where antibody plays a subordinate role. D007213 Indomethacin A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID) that inhibits CYCLOOXYGENASE, which is necessary for the formation of PROSTAGLANDINS and other AUTACOIDS. It also inhibits the motility of POLYMORPHONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES. Amuno,Indocid,Indocin,Indomet 140,Indometacin,Indomethacin Hydrochloride,Metindol,Osmosin
