Three hundred and seventy five new cases of destructive tuberculosis of the lungs were examined prior to chemotherapy to determine the frequency, nature and level of bronchospasm. It was shown that the positive time course of the volumetric indices in the patients was less frequent while the positive time course of the rate indices was more frequent. The frequency of the positive time courses of the rate indices was much lower in the patients with focal tuberculosis as compared to that in the patients with other forms of the disease.
