[Surgical treatment of sequelae in injuries of main peripheral blood vessels]. 1989

N U Usmanov, and A D Gaibov, and T G Gul'muradov

The authors examined 46 patients with sequelae of injuries to the peripheral vessels: pulsatile hematoma (in 12), traumatic aneurysm (in 21), arteriovenous aneurysm (in 5), and disease of a ligated vessel (in 8). Operations were carried out on 45 patients. Favourable results were produced in 92.7% of 41 patients who were treated by restorative operations. Replacement of the involved vascular segment by an autologous vein was the operation of choice in this case.
