Eighty patients were physically conditioned after definite myocardial infarction (WHO definition). The percentage of patients older than 60 years was 28%. Physical conditioning as part of the non-drug therapy of acute myocardial infarction is of great importance also to older patients. The older patient impaired in his/her performance becomes physically more capable by an individually adapted conditioning and can socially better be re-integrated. A suitable parameter for the demonstration of the efficiency of physical conditioning in older patients is the lactate dynamics.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007527 Isoenzymes Structurally related forms of an enzyme. Each isoenzyme has the same mechanism and classification, but differs in its chemical, physical, or immunological characteristics. Alloenzyme,Allozyme,Isoenzyme,Isozyme,Isozymes,Alloenzymes,Allozymes
D007770 L-Lactate Dehydrogenase A tetrameric enzyme that, along with the coenzyme NAD+, catalyzes the interconversion of LACTATE and PYRUVATE. In vertebrates, genes for three different subunits (LDH-A, LDH-B and LDH-C) exist. Lactate Dehydrogenase,Dehydrogenase, L-Lactate,Dehydrogenase, Lactate,L Lactate Dehydrogenase
